The Academic Planning Unit is a centre responsible for academic development of a University through its planning and quality assurance functions. The functions of the Academic Planning Unit are as follows:

Annual Recurrent Budget

Preparation of University Annual Recurrent Budget in collaboration with the Bursary unit with the cooperation of other Departments and Units

University’s Budget

Performs analysis of the University’s budget

University Academic Brief

Initiation and coordination of review of the University academic Brief in line with extant NUC policy and trend in the academic world

Guidance

Guiding each unit of the University on the implementation of the Academic Brief

Student/Staff Strength

Projection of student enrolment figures and corresponding staff strength

Programme Computation

Computation of Full - Time Equivalents (FTE) for all programmes

Strategic Plan

Ensuring that the University operates within its Strategic Plan for coordinated development

Curriculum Development

Coordinating curriculum development and review for academic programmes in the University

Analysis of Data

Collection, collation and analysis of data for planning purposes

University Calendar

Preparation of University Calendar for stable academic delivery

Review and Monitoring

Working with Schools and Departments to prepare, review and monitor their academic plans and identify areas of potential development

Activities Coordination

Coordinating preparatory activities of the University for Accreditations by NUC and other professional bodies
